Hello ladies!
About two or so months ago my mother told me about a promotional email she had received from ELF offering a free 12 piece brush set if you spent $25 or more. So of course we jumped at the opportunity. I got a few good things I had been eyeing - mostly base products that I could build up on.
So here goes- I made sure to take these pics with my actual camera and not my phone this time so the quality should be better.
First up is the eyebrow kit. I got this in the lightest shade because even though my eyebrows are a deep brown, my colouring is gold and I have light brown hair as well. This makes any dark brown or medium brown look too deep on me. ELF's spin on the eyebrow kit is different from most. The wax is what is coloured and the powder is translucent. So if you really want to fill in sparse brows without it looking too harsh - this is the product for you. You can control exactly where the product goes, and the powder serves to thicken up the wax so you use very little of the product in one sitting. Also the process of wax first, powder second means that it will literally stay on your eyebrows all day. This is what it looks like:
Next up is a Matte Bronzer and a blush in the colour "bronze". These are summer essentials. I wanted to try out the matte bronzer because it is a relatively new item for ELF and I wanted to see how they did the product without that shimmer filler that 'non-name brand' make up companies use. The colour payoff is suprisingly good if not a little too good. The colour is wonderful for me but I definitely have to use a light hand or I will end up looking like someone slapped some mud on my face. Ive found best results when I swipe it on lightly with an angled brush then dip a large fluffy brush in some translucent powder to help blend it in. This is to be used strictly for contouring and not to add any glow to your face as it has more brown and blue in it than yellow and pink.
The blush in 'bronze' is a HEAVEN sent! I was in love from the first swatch! It is such a pretty pretty shade of gold with a lovely sort of glow to it. You can also use it as a highlighter or if applied with a heavy hand it can be used as a bronzer. I also use it as an eyeshadow- at least until I can find an eyeshadow that looks like it. I really really like the colour. ALOT! I hope ELF has this in their personalized powder for the palettes. Bravo ELF bravo!
Blush on the left; Bronzer on the right.
Eyeliners- I have and always will be in love with eyeliners. And so I got 5 :) I finally ordered the cream eyeliner from the studio line in black. I really really love it but I find it too dark for during the day use. The staying power is amazing as well. Ive used it on night looks when I want to super define my eyes. i definitely need to get this in the other colours. The other eyeliners are re-orders. The waterproof eyeliner pen- two in black, one in brown (perfect for daytime!) and one in plum. These are definite budge proof and they are so easy to apply. Love them
Eyelid primer - unlike an original primer this is actually useful. It makes your eyeshadows last longer and appear more vibrant. Isnt that good news in and of itself? I think that's enough said. See picture here:-
There are some other items but I gave them to my mother so I wont show them here. I also gave her some of the brushes so if you count less than 12 in the picture below lol.
I picked up my very first NYX round lipstick in the colour electra on Tuesday because I wanted a vibrant red for one of those sultry summer nights. Forgot to take a picture of it so Im just gonna insert a web pic. I will let you know how everything works out later on :)
THAT'S ALL!
See you soon!
