Top 5 Nail Colours for the Fall

I always look forward to sweater weather, or in the case of Jamaica, ' I get to wear sleeves' weather. The fall season brings a bit of edge to it with the darker richer nail colours that are trending for the season.

Here are my top 5 picks for nail colours for the season, colours I've been itching to pair with the new fashion that comes with the slight change of the weather.

  1. Emerald Shades : This year's pantone colour is Emerald. For fall, choose a more muted shade of emerald as this will go well with the moody shades of the season and gives an edgier feel to a colour that's been around all year. You can pick up your favourite Essie shades at the Beauty Spot on Brompton Road or here

2. Deeper Reds : Reds are a year round favourite for me but as the place cools down, I find myself drawn to deeper, edgier shades. They're still classy but are a tad more modern than the classic reds that hollywood pin ups are famous for. The shade I have been reaching for is China Glaze's 'Merry Berry'. You can pick this up at the Fontana in the New Kingston Shopping Centre or here

3. Greiges ( Grey + Beige): This shade lends an air of sophistication to those who prefer neutrals. Be sure to choose a shade than has more yellow undertones than blue to prevent your fingers from looking fungus-like. I am currently in love with OPI's 'French Quarter for your Thoughts'. I spotted it across the way while walking through the London Gatwick Airport last year and every time I wear it, I get compliment after compliment. I haven't seen this shade here but you can check any of the major pharmacies or the Face Place. I will do some looking around myself and will update this space if I find it. If you can't wait though, you can always get it here.

4. Midnight Blues: This navy blue colour pairs well with other jewel tones and manages to elongate fingers without making them look witch-y. It's not quite black but it is a nice middle ground between the hit colour cobalt of summer and the ever so popular black for the colder months.I am eager to try Essie's After School Boy Blazer. You can scoop it at the Beauty Spot or here

5. Metallic: The Fall isn't all about muted tones, you can have fun with metallic hues that are everywhere right now. Not quite the glitter and sparkle that the holiday season inspires but it's a nice come down from the nail art fad of summer. I am most excited to try Essie ' For the Twill of It'. I've seen this at the Beauty Spot and at Discount Pharmacy and here

What are you excited to try now that summer is over? Do you have any favourites?

Till next time,
**Jane
