Nope.

MAKE-UP

Right now I'm using Black Opal. I'm on the prowl for something that doesn't crease however, and for a makeup company that has consistent shades.

Not a fan of mica or that much iron being on ma skin. Im still skeptical- I prefer natural makeup from herbs rather than minerals

What is your favorite blush to use?
taj mahal.

?
Negative.

Yup, cheap, predictable, dependable makeup that allows you to make mistakes and wash em off w/o having to wear them around because of some exclusive ingredient w miraculous staying power

Yes, I have and I'm certified :)

No, but Im not a clumsy person generally

Name a makeup crime that you hate?
omg- black lipliner and blue eye makeup, one colour eyeshadow from lid to browbone- no variation or blending, etc.

Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?
yes but there is a time and place for everything I believe.

Which celebrity always has great make up?
I could not tell you...good makeup starts with good skin so I think Halle Berry, Iman, Selma Hayek and the oh-so-lovely Natalie Portman. loooooove her!

If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?
Chapstick. If i felt plain I'd just pinch ma cheeks, bite ma lips and rub the chapstick on my eyelashes and bam! no makeup makeup lol- try it tho...it works

Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?I do most of the time. Makeup isn't that big of a deal here

Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
Yes, especially when I get sleep and Ive been drinking my water

In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
That’s hard- Iman i guess but she doesn't have as wide a selection as MAC (which tends not to work for most of the complexions in my country so what to do?)

What do you think of Makeup??
I love it! It’s fun – it’s expression and art in a way.

THE CITY SEASON 3!!!!!!

So yes,
It is a school night and I have a tremendous amount of work to get done but I am absolutely giddy with excitement- I just saw the new trailer for season 3 of The City!!! and I am dying to see the first episode- I mean it has been ages since anything like this- pure fashion drama- has been on tv right?

I absolutely cannot find the "rachel Zoe" project on tv anywhere! was it cancelled? someone inform me please. Well yes, back to the task at hand. I have always loved Whitney but I have always hated the way that she has allowed persons to step on her and use and abuse her and her response has always been to shrug and smile and offer an explanation for any amount of cattiness that that spoiled mean girl Olivia happened to dish out on her.

So you can imagine my pure ecstatic joy when I finally see her call Olivia what she truly is- a bitch! and that she confronts her about it ( this really is because Whitney probably is just now realizing that Olivia was being mean all this time to her rather than just different). Poor sweet Whitney!

I have been watching Kell on Earth whenever I  get the chance and Ive begun to understand that Kelly Cutrone isnt actually mean she is just really blunt but she truly wants you to learn so long as you're not lazy or a whiny baby that is. Kelly actually is full of wisdom and advice. I sneaked a peek at her book 'Go outside if you wanna cry and other things your mother never taught you' and I could just feel the empowerment spewing out of its pages. I am going on a man hunt for it next week when I get holidays from school and I am going to make it my guide- especially since I will be facing the scary work world myself in a matter of mere months.

I also feel really sorry for Erin (elle) because it's like as hard as she has worked all this time Olivia just comes in and is teacher's pet when all she does is lie and cheat and schmooze and i will be so mad if Joe considers how 'offended' she feels when she tattles on Erin when he totally disregarded Erin's feelings. Joe, dont you realize that no matter how well Olivia dresses ( and I do admit to her dressing well) it doesnt make her pretty? and Erin could never be jealous of her evilous (yes i said evilous) ways? Someone really needs to poke him and wake him up- there is a reason Olivia is never photographed with friends- she probably doesnt have any!

That was the drama part- onto the fashion now. Its obvious that blazers and ombre are still hits and perhaps will continue to be- as well as the centre part taking  precedence over the once so 'refreshing' side part. Strong shoulders mixed with feminine patterns also seem to show up in the new season and heels heels heels. Afterall, it is new york city. I am also seeing a lot of nude colours annnnnnnnnnd did anyone notice? Whitney is tanned! and wearing bronzer! Im glad her style is evolving and maturing and I like that she isn't trying several trends at once so she still looks fresh and sweet rather than robotic and trendy - the worst thing a designer can be.

Well thats all for now folks! Ive embedded the trailer here- for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

I Love My Body (by Victoria of course!)

I'm honestly fighting with the decision to make this a post of substance or make it a lighthearted one. I think there are enough studies and posts on how to improve self esteem etc and how to deal with body issues but is there enough info out there on the other stuff- not how we can feel good but what actually makes us feel good?

Fashion, makeup, jewellery may be superficial things but they do have a far deeper effect. Why? Because they can make you feel good. When someone notices you because you've put yourself together well it feels good. And why does it feel good? Because you got someone's attention, out of the dozens, millions, gazillions of other people there are and that makes you feel special.

Face it, we thrive on being highlighted for a positive reason. And the real way to make a woman happy is just to pay attention. Give a woman all the money in the world and ignore her and I promise you that woman will have a negative self image. And women who dress as if they were crying for attention really are doing just that.

So what then? Am I saying that the shinier or louder you get the better you'll feel? Not at all. I'm just saying that it isn't about your weight, whether you're wearing designer or not, your complexion or even your shoes. Its about the presentation- your grooming.

Don't mistake this to mean that I'm promoting everyone aiming to look like Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. I am saying instead that pausing to make sure you're proud (not okay with, not blah) of what you look like will make you happy with your self. If you do this you won't need magazines to tell you how to accentuate your best assets and hide your flaws- pushing you into a one-size-fits-all mould. Afterall who knows you better than you right?

I did say it-women need attention to feel good, but why do we fail to pay ourselves some attention? If when you get dressed you somehow can't please yourself make a feasible list of items you can afford that would help. For example if you like the colour purple then buy something purple-whether its underwear or shoes or a piece of jewellery or a shirt etc. When you put it on it will make you smile. And that smile will be admired all day.

So I challenge you to give yourself some attention- try it out for a month and I guarantee you'Ll feel amazing on the inside (where the good feeling will last).^_^

Heels: Perfect Rainy Weather Wear?

Yes, you read that right but let me clarify my position a teensy bit before you all attack me. When I say 'rainy weather' I'm speaking from a Caribbean perspective where when it rains its just rain( maybe a lil hail) but no sleet etc comes with it.
That said let's get on with it. Yes heels when it rains makes sense simply because they make u elevated and prevent your feet from getting wet. Obviously then, you will fare better when your heels have more material to them. Pumps are therefore better than stilettos and boots more than pumps-duh right?
Okay, ill confess-any of my friends will tell you that I constantly launch vendettas against wearing flats and that I believe sneakers/trainers? are ONLY for exercise not for everyday wear for women. But aside from my personal campaign to get people to wear heels-think about it- really think about it. Rainy weather makes you want to curl up in bed and snuggle yes? The sad reality is however, that we have to go to school and work and all these things soooo
Why not make it fabulous by donning some heels? Your feet won't get as wet, you'll look extra snazzy because most persons will be dressing down and hey, when ure wearing heels men are more gentlemanly. Don't you find?
Now this mini-revolution I'm trying to start >_< (lol, maybe) may have some nay-sayers thinking that heels on a rainy day is impractical BUT so long as your heels have a grip on the bottom (u know the patterns on the sole of ur shoes) you should not fall. In fact, science (yes I'm getting all geeky on ya) shows that because of how your weight is shared between heel and toes when you're in heels you are actually less likely to slip in heels than you are in flats. And, if you examine the soles of your flats you'll notice that they tend to wear away faster than your heels making them more slippery. Ironic isn't it? That flats, the grunge wearer's staple may actually be less practical for once?
If I may say so myself: FLATS- 0; HEELS: 1.

Finally!
(O, I shudnt have to say this but camels ((or heels that don't have a strap at the back)) do not apply to this post- if you wear them on a rainy day you will slip and fall)

Couple pics for some heels on a rainy day inspiration. Enjoy!
